Experiences are often categorized.
Users can pair together categories to create their ideal itinerary for a day of exploring. The map unites the cards into a path by proximity.

What can help you see a place?
The idea came from the pain points of travel for backpack travelers. Getting plugged into a locale is the toughest part of creating your own experience.

And what if tourism felt good to everyone?
I learned that in high traffic areas of Europe, residents can feel overburdened by the presence of visitors. I wanted to reframe consumption by creating opportunities for visitors to share moments with residents, which promotes cultural exchange.

How can these relationships help the local economy?
Small businesses are an essential part of what makes an area unique. I learned that small businesses rely on relationship marketing: maintaining personal relationships with their customer base while providing services. VISIT VÄXJÖ can connect visitors to both the residents and small businesses, boosting the economy through patronage.
Why an analog product in a digital age?
VISIT VÄXJÖ provides the opportunity to navigate with fewer distractions. The intent is to help a traveler connect more deeply to a place by analog means. The user can use the product by itself, or in combination with a phone.
